Despite that horrible COVID-19 pandemic, we have a lot to be thankful for this year. For instance, the Herker family, in association with Advent Lutheran, donated 300 sleeping bags to us this year. These selfless people have been keeping the homeless warm for 16 years now! In addition, this year's Thanksgiving Feast has been sponsored by: A. Chavis Transportation, Ayesha Love Collection, Big Daddy's Barbeque, DJRC Entertainment, Hey Puddin, Taste Kitchen and Cocktails, and the Smoke House. We are thankful for all our volunteers, staff, donors, and Members. From all of us, we hope you have a safe and happy holiday!

Thank you once again, to Hydrate the Homeless. They have been crucial in ensuring our Members stay hydrated, especially for COVID-19 safety. You are truly Repairers of the Breach! Thanks to Carol Ryan & volunteers, this year's rummage sale was another success. Household items were among the goodies that were very affordable. Actually, they were all the same price... free! Thank you for making our Members' day a little brighter. Ethan, of troop 530, has organized a clothing drive for us! He sent out over 1,000 flyers in his neighborhood, and, using his leadership skills, created an assembly line of volunteers to sort, fold, and package men's and women's clothing! Thank you for all your hard work, Ethan! It's been a while since we blogged ...SARS-CoV-2 (aka, COVID-19) has kept us busy. For safety, we still haven't opened up our bubbler to the Members and staff, so this means that we depend upon bottles of water to... HYDRATE THE HOMELESS! Thank you to Hydrate the Homeless for the two pallets of water we now have! Our Members are grateful for this life-saving gift, and we are as well. Special thank you to Girl Scout Troop 20099 from the Holy Hill Area School District in Richfield. They gathered so many items we could use like: gloves, cleaning supplies, jeans, t-shirts and more! It's because of our wonderful community that we can do so much with so little, especially during these times when COVID-19 has presented many challenges to us. Thank you to you all, and thank you, girls! You are all truly Repairers of the Breach! As we thank those who gave the ultimate sacrifice for our freedom, we also thank our Members who are vets, the volunteers from St. Joseph's in Grafton, and the community as a whole for making our Memorial Day Picnic possible... despite the challenges COVID-19 has presented to us. Donning facial masks and gloves, the volunteers and staff packed up burgers, brats, chicken, potato chips, potato salad, homemade cookies, soda, and water in carryout containers for the Members. Even Mother Nature pitched in by keeping the rain away. May you all have a safe and wonderful holiday! On May 1, 2020, Repairers of the Breach will launch its very own online store! What will we be offering? You'll have to wait until May to find out, but we think you'll find it innovative and exciting, so mark your calendars! Our grand opening is right around the corner!
Hello, Repairers!
As the temperature rises, so do instances of sickness, and WEB MD shows much of the country is battling several illnesses at this time. With the added complication of Coronavirus COVID 19 working its way to Milwaukee, it seems difficult to stay healthy these days. Our Members are especially susceptible to contracting and spreading illness because they are in public places like the library or ROTB much of the day and at night. Will you help our Members fight the colds, flus, and coronaviruses coming our way? We are seeking donations of kleenex (both boxes and individual packs), hand sanitizer (both large and travel sizes), bleach, Lysol, and cleaning wipes to fight these illnesses as best as we can. We have a good supply of soap at this time. Thank you so much! We appreciate all that you do! |
