Repairers of the Breach Alumni Association

Imagine what it's like... yesterday you were homeless, and today you're not. What a difference a day makes. The struggle is over! You have your own place! As you can probably imagine, it's not that easy. A job and a home are not enough—for anybody.
The old adage applies: it takes a village, and Repairers of the Breach is an important part of the village!
We continue to be there, to offer needed support for formerly homeless members. After all, daily vigilance and a strong will are needed to maintain a home and a healthier, happier and more self-sufficient lifestyle. We encourage and support the participation of program “alumni” in several supportive center activities, such as Saturday Community Meetings, AODA recovery sessions, speakers bureau events, performing in the homeless choir, as well as accessing our medical clinic. Resources such as clothing and furniture are also available to our alumni.

If I can do this, you can too!

Alumni also enhance the peer leadership and peer empowerment that are so vital to the personal healing and growth of our homeless members. The message, both spoken and seen, is "If I can do this, you can too!" This is a mutually beneficial relationship. Everybody wins.
Repairers of the Breach will be strengthening and revitalizing this program in 2014. Keep posted for updates.
Bravo! We thank the Congregation of Sisters of St. Agnes and their Agnesian Caring Through Sharing (ACTS) program for the "seed money" to begin this program in 2003.
