Life-Saving. Life-Sustaining. Life-Restoring.
Repairers of the Breach is Milwaukee’s only daytime homeless shelter open six days per week.
Our mission is simple: To provide life-saving, life-sustaining, and life-restoring programs
Our vision is simple: an inclusive society whose members all have adequate food, housing, health care, a support system, literacy, and an empowered voice
Getting there is less simple.
You see, the causes for housing instability are multi-faceted and layered, and therefore, so must be the tools to get out. Providing employment assistance, for example, is all well and good, but who can concentrate on resume writing when they are starving? Our solution… our Breach Cafe. Offering nutritious food is wonderful, but what if you need insulin to keep going? Our solution… our Free Medical Clinic. Having an interview is wonderful, but who can compete in old clothes? Our solution… our Shelter & Resources program, which offers showers, hygiene products, and clean clothes, including professional interview clothes!
Our Members (the homeless and at-risk) work hard to become permanently self-sufficient, and by offering the tools they need, we offer them the greatest chance at success. And successful they are! Check out this testimonial from a former Member:
By providing life-saving, life-sustaining, and life-restoring programs, solutions, and resources, our Members regularly achieve their goals, from obtaining housing to obtaining better employment.
But we do not do it alone. Repairers of the Breach is a community of thousands. From donors and foundations, to faith-based groups, to volunteers, to the Members themselves, we all work together to improve our community. We are all Repairers of the Breach. And so are you.
Thank you for your support!

Countless studies have shown the detriment to the mind, mood, and body of a person who is starving. Our Breach Cafe offers continental breakfast, a hearty lunch, coffee, snacks, and work lunch for those who need it most.
From injuries to chronic illness, vaccines to screenings, ROTB’s Free Medical Clinic provides free monitoring and medications, supplies, referrals to free specialists, and more, keeping our neighbors healthy and out of the ER.
From providing shelter from heat and cold, to offering lockers, a phone line, mail service, computer access, resources, showers, clothing, and more, our Shelter & Resources program is our largest program.
