On February 26, 2020, six people lost their lives in Milwaukee when an active shooter opened fire upon his co-workers near the Molson-Coors campus.
Our hearts are wrenched with agony for the victims and their families, and we offer sincerest condolences. We also offer our condolences to everyone else affected by this event, as it seems disasters like this are becoming more common. Traumatic events, especially in early childhood but also in adulthood, can manifest into mental issues such as PTSD and depression and is one reason why some people become homeless. However, there is hope. If you are in distress, know that you are not alone. Your feelings are valid, and there are places to help teach you how cope. Milwaukee has hotlines set up and our executive director, Pastor James West, can offer spiritual guidance. Who knows? While seeking help, you might help someone else along the way. Again, our sincerest condolences to everyone affected by this tragedy, and may our great city find peace once again.

Thank you to Stan's for their wonderful Share-A-Pair shoe drive! Because of them, we received boxes of shoes and boots, orthotics for our medical clinic, and socks! They even were so thoughtful as to include unusual sizes for our Members with more robust feet. Our Members are extremely thankful, because they go through shoes much more quickly than the average person, yet they don't have the means to purchase new shoes. Imagine walking on mud, snow, ice, and overall, putting more miles on the only pair of shoes you have. Your shoes will wear out faster, and your feet will be colder and more painful as those shoes and boots wear out. This is especially troublesome for someone who needs orthotics and who works on his feet all day.
Because of generous donations from all over Milwaukee, including Stan's Share-A-Pair shoe drive, our Members have one less thing to worry about. THANK YOU! You are truly Repairers of the Breach! https://cbs58.com/news/random-acts-of-kindness-day-stans-fit-your-feet-donates-shoes-socks-to-milwaukee-homeless-shelter It's dangerously cold outside. Thank you to Fox6News for reminding people that our emergency warming rooms are open overnight for anyone who needs shelter.
